Our History
First prototype
Spring 2023
In 2023 we developed the first prototype at the Smart Turizem Hackaton organized by Spirit Turizem and Ljubljana Technology park for the catering company Jezeršek. The prototype was at the early stages just good enough to jump start the project and winning the competition.
Pilot project with Jezeršek catering
Summer 2023
We tested our solution with Jezeršek Catering at the Ljubljana’s open kitchen event where we were able to reduce their food waste by more than 4x and save them time and money.
Recived co-founding by the European Union
Summer 2023
Eit Digital Venture program saw the potential in the project and supported it to lunch it off the ground. The program helped us organize and financally supported the project.
Ljubljana City inkubator
Winter 2023
The FoodIQ project joined the City Inkubator of Ljubljana at the end of 2023 and recived more support to develope the solutions further in different situations and enviorments.
Winter fair test in Ljubljana
Winter 2023
We improved our solution, added more features and started work on a user facing platform for Jezeršek. The test on the winter fair in Ljubljana proved that the solution can work in different situations.
Test in schools cantinas
Summer 2024
We are working on to expand the FoodIQ solutions outside catering events and test it in restaurants and school cantinas where additional food reduction could be possible.
Rector's award for the best innovation at the University of Ljubljana
Autumn 2024
University of Ljubljana recognized our innovation and awarded Food IQ the first place for the best innovation of 2024 at the University of Ljubljana as part of the Uni.Minds festival.
